THE SMITH SCHOOL POPCORN SALE

“The Angels”, a walk team for Avon that was developed in 2004, will walk for
the third consecutive year in the Avon Walk For Breast Cancer on Oct. 6 and 7, led by team captain Kelli Anderson. Anderson is a Montvale resident and a 4-year breast cancer survivor.

This year’s fundraising event, “Pretty in Pink,” will be held at the Park Ridge Elks Club on Saturday, Sept. 15. In addition to raising money for walkers to walk in the Avon Breast Cancer Walk in New York City on October 6 and 7, The Angels have also decided to help raise money for a local charity, Noah’s Gift Foundation.

Noah’s Gifts Foundation was created on behalf of Noah Price who lost his little life to cancer at the age of 3. The foundation was started to raise money to help families with children that have cancer and other catastrophic (or serious) illnesses, as well as provide much needed financial support for pediatric cancer research.

Both groups are a 501(c)3 nonprofit volunteer organizations. The Avon Walk Team for this
year is made up of Kelli Anderson, Danielle Alvik, Anne Marie Costello, Carol Green, Tom Hartel, Lisa Hartel, Nina Skowronski, Janet Sullivan, Doreen Sullivan, Francis Sude, and Debbie Szabo.
